EDUC 473 - Student Teaching in Special Education: Extended Placement

This course is an extended field-based clinical experience for those adding a Special Education endorsement following the elementary placement. This clinical experience provides direct teaching experiences in the special education setting in a classroom for students with emotional impairments and/or learning disabilities. Emphasis will be on working with other professionals in the field, application to specific assessment, completing IEP and other paperwork, gathering and studying data to make informed decisions, and direct teaching of students in a special education context. Secondary majors should register for EDUC 460 or EDUC 465 for their special education student teaching placement.
