The communication major curriculum is designed to provide a balanced education emphasizing theoretical understanding and skill development across all significant communication contexts.
The communication major consists of 33 credits, plus statistics. Only 100-level required courses and 200-level electives can transfer to Hope and be counted toward the major. COMM 260 COMM 270 , and COMM 280 must be taken at Hope. Transfer credit will not be awarded for 300- or 400-level courses.
The Communication Department believes in the value of study abroad experiences and will therefore allow up to six study abroad credits to be counted toward the major as 100-level required courses or 200-level electives. In addition, communication majors may count up to three study abroad credits toward COMM 399 COMM 399 - Communication Internship .
