NURS 470 - Clinical Judgment in Nursing This course provides a comprehensive evaluation of clinical judgment in nursing and analyzes advanced concepts of caring for the complex, high acuity adult patient across cultures and lifespan in a variety of healthcare settings. Emphasis will be placed on exploring the provision of evidenced-based nursing care for adults with multisystem dysfunction to promote or restore optimal health. An emphasis will also be placed on the critical evaluation of specialty content areas, with a focus on the integration of critical thinking skills necessary for providing evidence-based care to patients. This course also includes in-depth preparation for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Students must reach a benchmarked score on an NCLEX-RN practice exam (4 hours in length) or complete remediation work as part of this course. Students may take NURS 481 and NURS 488 either prior to enrollment in or concurrently with the class.
