Peace and Justice Studies Minor

The Peace and Justice Studies Minor prepares students to assume their roles as global citizens and leaders through the development of knowledge and strategies for engaging a global society and promoting a peaceful and just world.

The minor takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding issues of peace and justice in theory and practice. It introduces students to religious, historical, political, environmental, sociological, cultural, economic, and other causes of conflict and injustice, as well as a wide range of approaches to building a more peaceful and just world.

Students pursuing the Peace and Justice Studies Minor will gain an understanding of conflict from interpersonal to international contexts, becoming more aware of their own and others’ identities, cultures and communities.

The Peace and Justice Studies Minor complements any major and other minor by providing an interdisciplinary liberal arts learning experience, where students design their own program of study by choosing courses from a variety of disciplines.

The Peace and Justice Studies Minor consists of 18 credits.
