ENGL 248 - Introduction to Literary Studies Credits: 4
ENGL 231 - Literature of the Western World I Credits: 4

ENGL 233 - Ancient Global Literature Credits: 4 (choosing one of these is recommended)
a writing course above ENGL 113
12 credits of literature courses numbered 270 or higher.
