Students planning a career in public accounting should complete the 150-credit public accounting major. The department offers all the accounting courses required for taking the CPA examination. With careful planning, the 150-hour CPA Program can be completed in just four years. ACCT 423 , ACCT 425 , ACCT 427 and ACCT 428 are required by the State of Michigan for those intending to take the CPA exam in Michigan. Any student contemplating taking the CPA exam in a state other than Michigan should consult with their advisor no later than the first semester of their junior year. Internships are available in both private and public sectors.
