SWK 443 - Social Work Field Experience I


This course represents the signature pedagogy of the social work profession and affords students the opportunity to synthesize and apply all of the content of their previous social work courses with client systems under the supervision of social work professionals and in cooperation with a diverse range of social service providers in Western Michigan. In this course, students will spend 220 hours in their field agencies. Student work may include direct service, client advocacy, training, referral service, and community organizing with client systems. A weekly practicum seminar is also a component of this course. Admission to field practicum is required. Students may take SWK 401  either prior to enrollment in or concurrently with the class.
