SWK 312A - Human Behavior and Social Environment I


This course will focus on the exploration, discussion, and application of theories related to biopsychosocial development throughout the life span, focusing on infancy, childhood; and adolescence; Cross-cutting dimensions of development are also covered, including race and ethnicity, sex and gender, and sexuality. Special attention will be given to interactions with and between individuals and social systems as they relate to social work practice with a variety of populations, including those experiencing ethnic, racial, gender-based, sexual, and age-based discrimination.
