PHIL 355 - 19th and 20th Century Philosophy A study of philosophy in the 19th- and 20th-centuries. Topics will include some of the following: the human relationship to God, alienation and inauthenticity, the existential tradition, the phenomenological tradition, feminist philosophy, post-colonial philosophy, and the analytic tradition. Figures could be from the continental or analytic tradition and may include: Kierkegaard, Marx, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Sartre, Beauvoir, Fanon, Frege, Russell, Wittgenstein, and others. Completion of a 200-level philosophical perspectives course is highly recommended prior to this course.
