DAN 198 - Conditioning and Recovery for Dancers


This course emphasizes a focus on practical knowledge and application of conditioning and recovery practices unique to the demands of dance. Students will learn various exercise methods to increase cardiovascular stamina, muscular strength, flexibility, stability, as well as active recovery practices. The course will cover healthy habits for injury prevention, efficient warm up and cool down methods, and individualized student-led research to customize students’ personal goals for physical longevity in the field of dance.
