KIN 207 - Sports in Society

This course will help students investigate the ways they perceive race, gender, class, deviance, violence, the media, economy, and education, all through a magnifying glass called sports. Students will think critically about sports as social constructions and phenomena to identify and understand social problems and solutions by reflecting on how sports affect the ways people feel, think, and live their lives. Students will find a greater sensitivity to the ways they choose to be consumers, leaders, participants, and change agents in society through sports.
