GRK 372 - Classical Greek Poetry

This course will introduce some of the differences between New Testament Greek and the Greek of earlier periods through reading and interpretation of the great works of Greek verse. Representative topics include the heroes, gods and goddesses of Homer’s epics, the tragic dramas of Sophocles and Euripides, and the sometimes very personal musings of the Lyric poets. Since the topic will vary each time the course is offered in a four-year period, this course may be repeated.
