GES 251 - Surficial Geology: Earth Structures I

This is an introduction to the natural processes shaping Earth’s surface. Among other topics, the course will stress weathering, landform and soil development, soil mechanics, the influence of running water, moving ice and wind on Earth’s surface, and people’s interaction with surficial geology. Two Saturday field trips will be required.
