ENGS 348 - Heat Transfer This course introduces the fundamental concepts of heat transfer. The three modes of heat transfer are addressed: conduction, convection, radiation. Both steady state and time varying situations are considered. The energy balance is applied extensively, and physical and mathematical principles underlying the concepts of heat transfer are presented. Rectangular, cylindrical and spherical coordinate systems are used in the analysis.
Credits: 3 Terms Offered: Spring, Summer Prerequisites: ENGS 250 or ENGS 340 with a grade of C- or better, MATH 245 with a grade of C- or better, MATH 270 with a grade of C- or better
