DAN 112 - Introduction to Dance Movement

This course introduces students to the art of dance through physical, creative, and analytical experiences. Students will learn the basics of recognized concert dance techniques including Jazz, Ballet, Modern/Contemporary, and Hip-Hop, and will engage in movement improvisation and compositional processes. Students will gain historical perspective through selected readings and/or videos along with class discussions.
