CHEM 343 - Physical Chemistry I The basic principles of physical chemistry are introduced with applications in the chemical and biological sciences. Underlying principles of thermodynamics, equilibrium, and kinetics are developed and applied to solutions, enzymes, spectroscopy, and macromolecules from macroscopic and statistical perspectives. Students may take PHYS 121 or ENGS 340 either prior to enrollment in or concurrently with the class. While PHYS 121 is strongly encouraged, PHYS 105 may also be taken.
