BUS 150 - Introduction to Business

This course will introduce students to the various functions of business – finance, marketing, operations, human resources, and accounting. It will examine how they relate to and complement each other as well as various types of businesses – for profit, social enterprise and non-profit. In addition, it will introduce students to ways of thinking about their own personal development as it relates to calling and careers in business organizations. The course includes applied aspects which could include simulations, organization visits and panel discussions. Reserved for first-year students or students pursuing a major or minor in business. Students who are exploring a minor starting in their junior year may be exempted from this course.
