MUS 362 - Jazz Theory and Improvisation II The purpose of the course is to continue the skill building process established in MUS 361 . This course will introduce the student to advanced techniques and practices of improvisation in a variety of styles. The course will cover tune/solo analysis as well as developing a more definitive concept of chord/scale relationships. A variety of contemporary performance practices will be discussed, including the use of synthetic scales, free improvisation, and advanced stylistic performance practice. MUS 361 is highly recommended prior to this course.
