GES 203 - Historical Geology This is an introduction to the physical and biological development of the Earth during the last 4.5 billion years. Topics include the formation of the Earth, interpretation of major events in Earth history as preserved in the rock record, and the origin and evolution of life. Three lectures and one three-hour laboratory each week. One weekend field trip is required.
