ENGS 344 - Mechanical Vibrations This course covers free and forced response of single and multiple degree of freedom lumped mass systems and continuous systems with an emphasis on developing mathematical models of physical systems. Topics include viscously damped mechanical systems, systems with rotating imbalances, directly and seismically forced structures, eigenvalue problems, accelerometers, and vibration of continuous systems, such as, beams and rods. Analytical and numerical methods for solving vibration problems are covered including solutions using MatLab.
