EDUC 251 - Assessment, Data and IEP in Special Education This course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to administer formal and informal assessments and use this data to create strength-based Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Legal issues, evidence-based practices, technical understanding of assessment, and reliability and validity concerning testing are examined. Administration of various norm-referenced, criterion-referenced, Curriculum-Based Assessments, observations and informal tests are practiced. This information will be used to develop IEPs while evaluating the effectiveness of instruction using progress-monitoring techniques.
