BIOL 356 - Genetics A comprehensive overview of genetics from its classical beginnings, including Mendelian genetics, linkage, chromosomal aberrations and extranuclear inheritance to modern molecular genetics. After a thorough grounding, topical subjects are covered in the last part of the semester, and have included cancer genetics, genetics of behavior, and population genetics. Three lectures a week. The laboratory (1 credit) is optional, and may be taken concurrently with the course.
