BIOL 341 - Virology This course introduces the principles of virology including the molecular biology of viral replication, virus-host cell interactions, immune response to infection, pathogenesis, control strategies (i.e., vaccines), virus-based medical therapies, epidemiology of emerging viruses, and the history of pandemics. The laboratory uses a model virus system and course-based research to explore virus-host interactions, and in the process, teach modern molecular virology laboratory techniques.
