BIOL 301 - General Microbiology An introduction to the field of microbiology covering physiological and molecular characteristics of microorganisms (bacteria, archaea, viruses and microbial eukaryotes) in the context of evolution and diversity. Special emphasis will be given to pathogenicity and interactions of microbes with the human immune system. Three lectures and two 2-hour laboratories per week. Additional out-of-class hours are required.
