The Hope College Education Department offers an integrated science teaching major, with a physics concentration, in the secondary level for certification through the Michigan Department of Education. The major consists of 39 core integrated science credits and 17 physics and calculus credits, for a total of 56 credits.
In addition, students must also declare one of the 44-credit secondary education teaching majors: Secondary Education, 5-9 Gr, 7-12 Gr, BA (for a middle school focus) or Secondary Education, 7-12 Gr, 5-9 Gr, BA (for a high school focus). Students may also declare a content minor: Psychology Education Minor or Teaching English as a Second Language Minor .
