Special Education, Emotional Impairments K-12, BA

The Hope College Education Department offers a special education teaching major in the secondary level for certification through the Michigan Department of Education. The special education, emotional impairments K-12 major consists of 22 credits.

In addition, students must also declare one of the 44-credit secondary education teaching majors: Secondary Education, 5-9 Gr, 7-12 Gr, BA  (for a middle school focus) or Secondary Education, 7-12 Gr, 5-9 Gr, BA  (for a high school focus).

Students are strongly encouraged to declare one of these content minors: English Education Minor  or Mathematics Minor .

Students may also declare one of these other content minors: Psychology Education Minor  or Teaching English as a Second Language Minor .
