Dance and Teaching Methods Minor


The Dance and Teaching Methods Minor provides education students with a foundation in dance technique, theory, and pedagogy. This minor prepares education students to apply knowledge of dance and pedagogy in school, studio, and community settings, and to integrate the arts as a tool for learning, creativity, and expression. The minimum expectation is that the student will participate in college dance activities for at least two semesters, including auditions for performances. It consists of 22 credits divided between technique, theory, and dance pedagogy.

Students must also declare one of the elementary or secondary education majors, however, this minor is not endorsed or certified through the State of Michigan.
