Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Academic Departments and Degrees

In the Religion, Christian History, Theology, and Ethics Major, students explore the unity and diversity in Christian thinking about God, creation, society, and humanity. Students study the development of Christian belief across the centuries and the various expressions of this faith among ordinary believers in different times and places.

The ultimate goal of historical, theological, and ethical study is to better understand and share in the worship of God and love of neighbors. At the core of this knowledge is the desire to be shaped by God’s revelation in Christ, as handed down in scripture. Therefore, in both required and elective courses students are trained to consider the meaning of Christian doctrine, reflect on the key events and significant figures in history, and understand the living and dynamic shape of the Christian faith.

This major consists of 30 credits.

Advanced Religion (18 credits)
