Dance Minor

The dance minor consists of a minimum of 22.5 credits divided between technique and theory. A student may not major in Dance Performance and Choreography, BA or Dance Dual Major, BA and minor in Dance. The minimum expectation is that the dance minor will participate in college dance activities for at least two semesters, including auditions for performances.

Performance Technique (12 credits)
Students must take a minimum of 1 course in each dance form (ballet, hip hop, modern, jazz, tap) plus a historic/global dance form. Additional credits must be completed to achieve the 12-credit performance technique graduation minimum. Students will be placed according to experience level and demonstrated ability.
Technique Electives (5 credits)
Theory Electives
These courses are recommended, but not required for the minor.
