Mathematics, B.S.

The requirement for a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics is a plan of study designed in consultation with a departmental advisor, and includes a total of 60 credits of courses from the Natural and Applied Science division of which at least 39 credits must be in mathematics as follows:

Requirements

MATH 280 - Bridge to Higher Mathematics: An Introduction to Mathematical Proof Credits: 3
MATH 331 - Real Analysis I Credits: 3
MATH 341 - Algebraic Structures I Credits: 3 must be included
No more than 16 credits from courses numbered 232 and lower shall be counted towards the 39 required credits

Additional credits chosen from the following courses:

MATH 126 - Calculus with Review II Credits: 4
MATH 131 - Calculus I Credits: 4
MATH 132 - Calculus II Credits: 4
MATH 231 - Multivariable Mathematics I Credits: 4
MATH 232 - Multivariable Mathematics II Credits: 4 and all courses numbered above 300 except MATH 323 and MATH 324

Statistics Concentration

A Statistics Concentration will include MATH 311 , MATH 312 , MATH 365 and either MATH 313 or MATH 362 as part of the 39 required mathematics credits.
