PSY 343 - Sleep Seminar This course is designed for sleepers, dreamers, daydreamers, nappers, and sleep deprived college students. In this course, students will examine three of the most fascinating phenomena in the universe-sleep, dreaming, and circadian rhythms-so that they will get a good overview of the sleep field. The format of this course will be discussion-based. Students will read books and scientific journal articles in this course to analyze how sleep is connected to health and happiness. There will also be an emphasis on the neuroscience of sleep, by exploring the neural mechanisms underlying these phenomena. The course includes an outreach project to educate community members about the importance of sleep. Three main themes will be highlighted in this course: sleep science, sleep research, and sleep health.
