REL 223 - Introduction to New Testament


This course is an introductory study of the history, literature, and theology of the New Testament, surveying contents, chronology, key figures, literary forms and dominant themes. It introduces a range of interpretive methods used in the academic study of the New Testament, and provides opportunities for reflection on the importance of this literature in its historical context and in the development of the Christian tradition.
