REL 222 - Introduction to Old Testament


This course is an introductory study of the history, literature, and theology of the Old Testament (Hebrew Bible), surveying contents, chronology, key figures, literary forms and dominant themes. It introduces a range of interpretive methods used in the academic study of the Old Testament, and provides opportunities for reflection on the importance of this literature in its historical context and in the development of Judaism and Christianity.
