PHYS 372 - Quantum Theory A detailed study of the mathematical and physical foundations of quantum mechanics. Topics include the Schroedinger wave equation, one-dimensional potentials, operator methods in quantum mechanics, the Heisenberg representation of operators, the three-dimensional Schroedinger equation, angular momentum, the hydrogen and helium atoms, matrix methods in quantum mechanics, time independent and time dependent perturbation theory, radiation of atoms, and scattering theory.
