EDUC 275 - Introduction to Secondary Education and Instruction Design In this course, teacher candidates pursuing secondary education will be introduced to the specific needs of working with adolescents and in secondary schools. Topics covered include professional standards, curriculum, assessment, lesson design, organizing for instruction, writing instructional objectives, differentiation, accommodations, using technology for teaching and learning, structures of secondary schools including models of co-teaching, and how to use data from and about students to implement effective instruction.
Credits: 3 Terms Offered: Fall, Spring Prerequisites: Declared education major, EDUC 200 and EDUC 201 with a grade of C or better, EDUC 225 and EDUC 226 with a grade of C or better, EDUC 270 with a grade of C or better
