As a member of the MIAA and NCAA Division III associations, Hope College sponsors 22 varsity sports for men and women. The college is home to the 2014 NCAA Division III National Championship women’s volleyball team.
The Hope College Education Department offers a special education teaching major in the secondary level for certification through the Michigan Department of Education. The special education, emotional impairments K-12 major consists of 22 credits.
In addition, students must also declare one of the 44-credit secondary education teaching majors: Secondary Education, 5-9 Gr, 7-12 Gr, BA (for a middle school focus) or Secondary Education, 7-12 Gr, 5-9 Gr, BA (for a high school focus).
Students are strongly encouraged to declare one of these content minors: English Education Minor or Mathematics Minor .
Students may also declare one of these other content minors: Psychology Education Minor or Teaching English as a Second Language Minor .
