EDUC 307 - Cultural and Physical Geography for Educators This course also explores the basic concepts and terms related to the study of physical geography. The characteristics and uses of maps, globes, and other geographic tools and technologies are addressed. The course also identifies the characteristics of landmasses and the physical processes in their development, including the shapes and patterns on the earth’s surface, e.g., the atmosphere, the biosphere, the hydrosphere and the lithosphere. This course also examines the geographical and climatic factors that have influenced the social and economic development of global populations. It analyzes the relationship of humans and their environment and explores the nature and complexity of earth’s cultural mosaics. It distinguishes the patterns and networks of economic interdependence on the earth’s surface with an emphasis on world health, religions, foods, gender relationships, etc.
