Students will initially be introduced to fundamental aspects of neuroscience and biochemistry in a traditional lecture format. After this introduction, students will explore the relationship between altered neurochemical activity and disease states using a case study approach. In the lab, students will be introduced to several neurochemistry techniques and will then be asked to use these tools to complete a novel neurochemistry research project.
